The Design Museum – Moving to Mars

A major exhibition at the Design Museum in London featuring historic objects, newly commissioned works and immersive digital experiences. Working alongside Experience Designers Fabrique we created a journey through time and space, from the earliest observations of Mars to the work currently being done to design Martian habitations and concluding with glimpses of speculative future scenarios.

To support this narrative we designed a series of distinct spaces, each with an identity expressed through materials, volumes and lighting. In the second space, Mars Today, we worked with planetary scientists at Imperial to translate Mars Rover images and 3D data into an accessible terrain which allowed visitors to experience the surface of the red planet.
